Don't Sleep on the OG

Tokenization is everywhere! The current funding wave in crypto is heavily focused on tokenization and infrastructure for real‑world assets (RWA), an area that naturally skews toward institutional players and private capital.
Venture dollars are flowing into platforms that aim to bring bonds, private funds, and supply‑chain assets on‑chain, but these opportunities often show up first as private equity rounds rather than tradable public tokens.
For retail investors, that means the early-stage upside is usually limited, and access tends to come later, once projects are de‑risked and valuations have already climbed. This dynamic doesn’t diminish the importance of tokenization; it simply highlights how the current cycle is being shaped by traditional finance entering the space on its own terms.
At the same time, do not sleep on the OG. Bitcoin—the original, time‑tested digital asset—offers a different kind of opportunity as the broader ecosystem looks elsewhere. While capital and developer attention chase permissioned ledgers and regulated token platforms, Bitcoin can be seen as relatively inexpensive by historical standards and sentiment metrics. Institutions are increasingly embracing the principles Bitcoin pioneered—transparent, borderless settlement and verifiable ownership—yet much of the market’s energy is directed toward replicating those features inside compliant, centralized‑style environments.
That very environment may end up reinforcing Bitcoin’s role as the most decentralized, neutral benchmark in the system: a simple, robust asset that is now widely recognized and accepted, yet still accessible at a price that feels modest compared with the hype surrounding newer, more complex token‑based narratives.
